About the Role – UX Researcher
Moniepoint is currently seeking a curious and detail-oriented UX Researcher to join its product team in Lagos. This role is ideal for someone who is endlessly curious about how things work and wants to learn the craft of research from the ground up. As a UX researcher, you will serve as the ears of the product team, supporting experienced researchers in uncovering the “why” behind user behaviours. This position is vital to the company’s mission of ensuring products remain simple, helpful, and relatable for people across Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing qualitative and quantitative research studies, ranging from in-depth interviews to surveys.
- Take ownership of research logistics, including identifying and scheduling participants for various studies.
- Help facilitate interviews and usability testing sessions, capturing key insights that matter to product development.
- Support the research team in transforming raw data into clear and actionable reports, journey maps, and user personas.
- Maintain the research repository to ensure findings are organised and easily accessible to the entire company.
- Collaborate closely with designers and product managers to integrate research into every stage of the product build.
- Stay current with new UX tools and methodologies, sharing knowledge with the wider team.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- Research projects run smoothly because logistics and participant recruitment are handled proactively.
- You become proficient in independently conducting foundational research sessions within your first six months.
- The research repository becomes the “source of truth” for the product team, consistently updated and reliable.
- Stakeholders consistently praise the clarity and helpfulness of the research documentation you assist in producing.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in UX research, market research, or a related field where understanding human behaviour is central.
- A solid grasp of basic research methods, with the ability to distinguish between a survey and an in-depth interview.
- Comfortable using digital tools and eager to master new ones like Maze, Typeform, or Google Forms.
- Strong analytical thinking skills with the ability to connect dots and identify patterns in complex information.
Preferred Qualifications
- An interest in fintech and how digital products are transforming lives across Africa.
- Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced work environment.
- A background in social sciences, psychology, or design.
